Background
On 13 and 14 May 2008, approximately 90 stakeholders met to ensure that the Australian Museum be relevant, dynamic and viable, given its rapidly changing operating environment. Stakeholders included representation from the Trust, Executive, PP&O staff, R&C staff and a range of external stakeholders.
Overall Action:
• Consideration be given to keeping the initiative going in staff meetings and engaging the whole system
• Synopsis of each groups plans (in point form) be included in the staff newsletter
• Get buy-in from other staff and circulate/discuss with all staff the list of potential priority issues
• Discussion between staff using the museum forum (online)
• Individual groups move the agenda forward on selected issues
• Imprimatur assumed for these groups by the creation of this two day workshop.
• The strategies be incorporated into the C.S.P
• Each group come up with at least one thing that doesn’t cost anything.
• Each group appoints a convenor for continuing the process (FH to lead this group)
• Co-ordinators communicate globally to AM the actions/outcomes of their groups-ongoing
• Thinking and planning be part of business efforts and commitments be made to facilitate this. (See FH and JC about any obstacles.)
